Morning Sight

The Morning Sight series concerns artworks that were created in the period 2023 - 2024. The works are made of 100% wool, a reflection of my love for natural materials. The bright, bright colors and patterns make this series stand out from my previous work, where I wanted to express the natural tones and texture of the material used. The artworks each have a diameter of 90 cm.

Vanishing Point

The Vanishing Point series was created in the period 2011-2018. With the exception of one work (a sculpture in the form of a Melo shell called Fertility), these are wall objects, most of which are made from maple seeds. Some other works of art from this series reflect the beauty of mother-of-pearl (Capiz shells). The aim of this series is to express the beauty and grandeur of nature, using its principle of repetition, and to process this with a certain simplicity. This creates a surface with its own texture, and, depending on the light of the day, a surface with thousands of shades in brown or white. Most art objects have a diameter or height of 122 cm. However, there are larger and smaller variations on this, depending on the shape.

Weightless

The Weightless series, a series of "ceiling objects", was created in the period 2011-2018. This series is made on the basis of Capiz shells, with the exception of the first work, which is made from Judas penny, a plant whose seed pods have a similar mother-of-pearl sheen.
As with the Vanishing Point series, this is about expressing the grandeur and beauty of nature, using repetition and order. The processing of the material, hanging from a multitude of thin wires several metres long, achieves an infinite amount of light reflections and permanent subtle movement, thanks to the air currents present in each room.

Hoops

The Hoops series was created in the period 2011-2018. These are room-filling installations made of textiles. Wooden hoops form the basis, and these are covered with wool, or covered with cotton or silk. The hoops, placed against the wall and suspended from the ceiling, seem to drift through the space against the laws of gravity.
